Jerzy Langer is a physics professor at the Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. Elected Fellow and former Foreign Secretary of Academia Europaea, Elected Fellow of the American Physical Society and a Founding Member and Honorary Vice President of EUROSCIENCE.
Was the key advisor to the President of Polish Academy of Sciences and then became a Deputy Minister of Science. Advises Mayor of Wrocław on the academic and pro-innovative transformation strategy of this 3rd largest academic city of Poland. For 4 years (2012-16) he was the President of the Management Board (CEO) of the Wrocław Research Centre EIT (www.eitplus.pl) - the largest new research and innovation infrastructure in Poland – co-funded by the cohesion funds.

Professor Langer co-authored several key European policy documents related to the ERA, ERC, FET and regional innovation policy. Co-assessed the 6th Framework Program. He also served as a panel member/chair of numerous national science and innovation policy assessments in the EU. In 2011 he formulated a concept of the European Innovation Council, as a twin to the ERC, but focused on the breakthrough technologies.
Authored about 250 highly cited research papers and keynote talks at major condensed-matter physics conferences, 3 patents and well above 200 papers and lectures on European and Polish science policy. Julian Bystrzanowski is a graduate of Faculty of History at University of Warsaw and a doctor in Physical Education at University of Physical Education in Warsaw. She graduated with distinctions from studies at Institute of Archeology at University of Warsaw, specializing in archeology of the late Medieval and modern times. Professionally, at first, connected with non-governmental organizations – Stefan Batory Foundation, Foundation for Economic Education – and later with public bodies – National Center of Culture, Center of Archeological Heritage Protection. In 2007, she took up the post of Deputy Director at Krajowy Ośrodek Badań I Dokumentacji Zabytków [Eng. National Center of Research and Documentations of Monuments] and since May 2010, she acted as the CEO of this institution. After transformation of KOBiDZ [Eng. National Center of Research and Documentations of Monuments] into National Heritage Institute in 2011, she became its first CEO, and held this position until August 2013. In 2013-2016, she acted as the CEO proxy for international relations at National Institute for Museums and Public Collections and since March 2016, she has been a Deputy Director at Cultural Heritage Department at Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

For a decade he was the press officer for Law and Justice since 2001. Since 2003 he held the Parliament’s observer’s office in the EU Parliament. Since May 1, 2004 he was given a seat for the European Parliament.
In June 2004, in the first European election in Poland, he was appointed a representative for the European Parliament. He attended to the Union group for the sake of the European Nations. In years 2007-2009 he was the chairman of Polish delegacy. At the same time, the vice-president of the EU Parliament and the vice-president of the delegation for Common Parliament Assembly of African Countries, the Caribbean and the Pacific region with the European Union. He worked in the Foreign Affairs Commission, Commission of Regional Development and the Commission of Internal Market and Customer Protection. He was the initiator of creating the Polish Circle which united all the Polish Euro-representatives. In the next European election he was successfully reelected. He co-founded the European Conservatives and Reformers group, vice-president of which he eventually became. He continued his work in the Commission of Foreign Affairs, he was made a coordinator of the Internal Market Commission and Customer Protection and a member of the ASEAN delegacy.
He was recognized as the most active Polish Euro-deputy in 2009- 2014 period by www.MEPranking.eu . Since 2014 he is tied with a right-winged organization called “Polska Razem Zjednoczona Prawica” and is its vice-president since 2015.
Ms. Gulay Avci is the Regional Manager for RAK Free Trade Zone in Turkey. She received her BA degrees from the Middle East Technical University (ODTU), Ankara and eventually earned her spot as Marketing Supervisor in RAK Free Trade Zone of United Arab Emirates.
Gulay lived in Dubai, for 10 years between 1995 and 2005 where she gained diverse experience in international marketing, sales and business development to create a platform for mainly Turkish investors in United Arab Emirates.
She was then promoted as Regional Manager of RAK FTZ in Turkey. She has setup the structure of Turkey Liaison Office of the free zone in Istanbul in 2007 where she is still promoting Ras Al Khaimah and RAK FTZ internationally. She currently resides in Istanbul with her husband and daughter.

Krzysztof Maj acts as General Director at European Capital of Culture Office 2016 which is responsible for preparing celebration of European Capital of Culture in 2016. Krzysztof Maj is a successful manager with great experience in works in culture and local government units. He was responsible for preparation of significant cultural event number of times, e.g. International Movie Festival “Ofensiva”, Street Art. Festival, Wrocław Yearly Students Carnival (5th edition), International Festival “One Love”. What is more, he acted as vice-starost of Lubin and Press Spokesman of President of Lubin.
Maciej Pyrka has graduated from Warsaw University of Technology and has been awarded the title of Executive MBA ; he is also a graduate of the Department of Sport and Tourism Management at University of Physical Education where he obtained master’s degree. He started his career in 1995, working for British Airways in Warsaw, gradually moving up to the post of Business Account Manager. In 2010, he joined the team of LOT Polish Airlines . He supervised the commercial activities of the carrier in North and Western Europe; he was responsible for managing big international team, taking strategic decisions and increasing the income in subordinate areas. In 2013, he was appointed to act as a Country Manager for Poland at Emirates Airlines. He is in charge of managing operation of Emirates in Poland, proper positioning of the airline and dynamic development of the carrier on the new market. In sum, Maciej Pyrka has 18-years’ professional experience in this industry.
He began his studies at the “Yule Technical College” in the UK and then graduated from the faculty of Law at the University of La Laguna.
He is the founder and the Director of “Sagaseta y asociados” company which deals with legal issues and development of different commercial actions. He has worked as a lawyer for more than thirty years.
He is a member of the Court of Arbitration of the Chamber of Commerce and Navigation of Las Palmas; a member of the Board of Directors in Association of Industries of Canaries (ASINCA); Vice President of Association of Arinaga Industries. He carried out different industrial activities in cooperation with the group of companies.
At the moment Ryszard Marcińczak is a Chairman of the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce – the chamber for the region of Mazowsze. In 2016 co-organized Homelife China Exhibition in Nadarzyn for 1100 Chinese exhibitors. Runs Masovian Laurel of the Innovativeness.
Mr. Marcińczak has two major professional life passions. First was working with the energy sector at virtually all activities – starting from systems design, construction supervision, maintenance coordination and new investments development and facilitating international cooperation. Second was supporting and contributing to the development of entrepreneurial activities in Poland.
Since graduation in 1979 as a MSc in electrotechnics he has been working for major Polish and multinational energy companies.
In his professional career held numerous managerial positions.
While being employed by the PSE Operator he was responsible for supervising Polish transmission grid system, implemented smart metering, planned new investments and created the Energy Supervisory Center.
During the period of work for American Emerson his responsibility included modernization of the power blocks in Elektrownia Bełchatów.
In Polish Federation of Engineering Associations he coordinated cooperation between scientists and the private sector. To boost competitiveness and promote best practices he initiated Polish Laurel of Innovativness. The contest promoting the most innovative Polish and international companies operating in Poland.
Moreover, his ideas include creation of the Polish-Lithuanian energy bridge, was a consultation during the legislation process of the energy law in Poland,
Ryszard is a honorary member of numerous professional associations including Association of Polish Electrical Engineers, court expert in the energy area, member of the supervisory board of the Polish Federation of Engineering Associations, member of the Club of the European Integration, advisor of Italian ENEL-DUKATI.
During his professional career he managed companies such as Lotos Paliwa, PL.2012 and PL.2012+. A wide experience in managing so called Megaprojects and Leisure Industry. Vicepresident of Polish Handball Federation in Poland in charge of preparation and organization of European Championship, Men’s EHF 2016. The event took place in Poland in January 2016 and was considered the best event in the European history of handball and all its quality and quantity results were record-breaking.
He graduated from law school, MBA and many other courses and trainings both in Poland and in foreign countries (including mini MBA studies in London).
Companies and teams administered by him gained acknowledgement among professionals dealing with methodology and practice of implementation of set undertakings and projects.

Mr Zieliński is a graduate of computer science at the Technical University of Dresden (Germany). In the years 1990-2015 he occupied technical and managerial positions in various telecommunication companies abroad and in Poland. In 2013 he undertook doctoral studies at the Department of Social Computer Science in the Polish-Japanese Academy of Technology. In 2015 Mr Zieliński was appointed as a Deputy Director of the Technological and Industrial Museum in Warsaw, being responsible for organizational matters. He is passionate about the history of technology and is keen to share this knowledge with the society.
